Regular Massage therapy and Bodywork can be a powerful ally in your healthcare regimen. Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress related. While eliminating stress is unrealistic, massage can assist in managing stress.

Research continues to show the enormous benefits of touch in alleviating the tensions of modern lifestyles. Receiving regularly scheduled massage over time, results in even greater benefits like boosting your immune system, reducing the levels of stress hormones as well as other physical benefits to your body and mind. Consequently, the medical community is actively embracing bodywork, and massage is becoming an integral part of health care.

Experiencing a massage / bodywork treatment can do you a world of good. Getting massage frequently can do even more…To assist in your self-care we offer a membership  program, SWELL: SpruceWind WELLness Membership  that will provide you with regular scheduled massage services at an affordable rate. Do you deserve better health and well-being? Then the SWELL Membership is for you. Currently we offer 6 month and 12 month plans. Ask your massage therapist or contact us for more information.

Your massage or bodywork session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.
Your session will be conducted by a professional therapist who has received proper training that you selected when you scheduled your appointment.
Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, it is entirely up to you what you want to wear. You should undress to your level of comfort. You will be properly draped during the entire session.
The practitioner will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table, and cover yourself with a clean sheet.
You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.
There are numerous types of massage and bodywork. Check the therapist section (click here) to learn more about our therapists and their skills.
The average full-body massage or bodywork session lasts approximately one hour. A half-hour appointment only allows time for a partial massage session, Many people prefer a 60- to 90-minute session for optimal relaxation. Always allow relaxation time prior to and after the session.
Prior to the massage, feel free to ask the practitioner any questions about the technique or the upcoming session. During the massage, make yourself comfortable.. Many people just close their eyes and completely relax, communicating if/when they need more or less pressure, another blanket, or anything else relevant to the session. If you have any questions regarding the session or about the particular technique you are receiving, feel free to ask the practitioner.
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during a massage, it is recommended you drink plenty of water following your massage.
Yes. That's why it's imperative that, before you begin your session, the practitioner asks general health questions. It is very important that you inform the practitioner of any health problems or medications you are taking.
